A venue reopening carries a different kind of pressure to a standard corporate event. Guests arrive with a memory of the old space, a curiosity about the new one, and an opinion forming before they’ve reached the bar. The styling, set up and entertainment sets the emotional register for the entire evening.
The Richmond Social reopening was no different as the team at Black Rhino Group welcomed 100 guests across influencers and stakeholders over their dynamic two night reopening evenings. With high visual stakes, every element of the welcome entertainment needed to photograph beautifully, hold up in video, and feel like a genuine production – giving guests a reason to stop, interact and capture the moment.
The Entertainment Experience with Aurora
Aurora provided six showgirls across two distinct costume looks, giving the event visual variety without losing cohesion. Four performers wore Aurora’s signature pearl and ivory beaded costumes: full ruffled skirt trains, crystal chandelier headpieces and floor-grazing fringe. A classic showgirl silhouette with serious production value.
Two performers wore vivid teal sequinned bodysuits paired with dramatic white ostrich feather headdresses, adding contrast and colour that photographed beautifully against The Richmond Social’s step-and-repeat backdrop.
The six performers worked the arrival space as roving entertainers throughout the event. Welcoming guests at the door, posing at the photo wall and moving through the crowd to create the kind of magnetic moments that make the rest of the room lean in.
Why Roving Activation’s and Guest Welcome Experiences work for Openings
At an event built around content creation, roving entertainment and a guest welcome experience doesn’t just fill space, it becomes the content. Performers who move through the crowd, engage with guests and animate a photo wall give every person in the room an organic reason to pick up their phone.
The two-costume approach also give an event a stronger visual depth. Guests encountered different looks in different parts of the venue, which kept the entertainment feeling fresh across the entire arrival period rather than concentrated in one corner.
For influencer events especially, the details matter. Costume quality, performer warmth and the ability to hold a pose that photographs well are just as important as the performance itself. When entertainers are built for content moments as much as atmosphere, the results speak for themselves.
