Golden Age Group’s SKY SQR is a landmark mixed-use precinct in the heart of Box Hill, bringing together housing, employment and business opportunities in a single destination. When the time came to celebrate its grand opening, Golden Age Group wanted to ensure guests arrived to something truly memorable. Aurora Entertainment (engaged by Melbourne Entertainment Company and M&Y Omni Reach) was brought in to deliver exactly that. Known for creating visually striking, high-impact entertainment experiences, Aurora provided the Giant Hibiscus Flower guest welcome for the daytime celebration. Stationed at the entrance, our golden showgirl greeted arriving guests wearing the dramatic, oversized red hibiscus flower backpiece that has become one of Aurora’s most breathtaking signature acts. The sweeping scale of the piece commands attention the moment guests approach, and on this occasion, the deep crimson of the hibiscus mirrored Golden Age Group’s brand colours with striking precision. A detail that gave the activation a considered, intentional quality that felt entirely bespoke to the event. A grand opening only happens once, and the guest arrival moment sets the tone for everything that follows. The Giant Hibiscus Flower is designed to do exactly that – to stop guests in their tracks and create an immediate sense of occasion before they’ve even stepped inside. The vibrancy of colour and the sheer scale of the backpiece make an impact that a traditional welcome simply cannot replicate. The response from guests was immediate and genuine. The boldness of the piece drew admiration throughout the welcome period, creating natural moments of delight and wonder as guests arrived. The client personally expressed to Aurora’s performer on the day how impressed they were with the impact of the activation and their enthusiasm to work with this creative team again in the future.
